Donald Trump ‘Idiot’ Birther: Has ‘Doubt’ About ‘Very Strange’ Obama (Video)

March 17, 2011

(ChattahBox Political News)—Oh look, another Republican dipping his toe in racist birtherism. Where to begin? First off, yes Donald, you are indeed one of those birther “idiots.” New York real estate mogul, incessant blowhard, Islamophobe and clownish reality TV star Donald Trump, who is preening from an uptick in media attention, while he runs around the country pretending to run for president, wants us to know that he’s “very rich” and a “really smart guy.” And who better than “The Donald” to decide whether our first black president is an illegal alien, right? The Donald proclaimed today that he harbors doubts about President Obama’s birthplace. Throwing his lot in with the lunatic birther conspiracy theorists, Trump intoned that Obama’s childhood is “very strange,” because according to Trump “nobody knew him,” growing up. And Trump lamented the fact that crazy racist birthers are labeled as “idiots.” Really, Trump’s ridiculous hairpiece must be glued on too tight.

Trump made his remarks during an interview on ABC’s Good Morning America, while he sat inside his private airplane, showing us how filthy rich he is.

TRUMP: Everybody that even gives any hint of being a birther, a word you didn’t use, even a little bit of a hint, like sheesh you know maybe, just maybe this much of a chance, they label them as an idiot. Let me tell yah, I’m a really smart guy. I was a really good student at the best school in the country. The reason I have a little doubt, just a little, is because he grew up and nobody knew him. You know? When you interview people, if ever I got the nomination, if I ever decide to run, you can go back and interview people from my kindergarten and they remember me. No one ever comes forward. Nobody knows who he is until later in his life. It’s very strange. The whole thing is very strange.

For the record, President Obama’s kindergarten teacher does remember him.

CNN points out, “In 2008, the Obama campaign produced a certification of live birth that reports his birthplace as Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended kindergarten there before moving to Jakarta, Indonesia with his stepfather at age six. Katherine Nakamoto, Obama’s kindergarten teacher, described the then-five-year old to the Maui News in 2009: “He was a cute, likable, heavy build-child. I could visualize Barry smiling, dressed in his long-sleeved, white shirt tucked into his brown Bermuda shorts, and wearing laced shoes.”

After a short time in Indonesia, Obama returned home to Hawaii, where he lived with his grandparents, attended school, later graduating from a prestigious Hawaiian prep school. And he went on to graduate from Columbia University and earn his law degree from Harvard, while becoming the editor of the law review. Lots of people “knew” Obama, despite Trump’s odious suggestion that our president is some sort of scary, illegitimate Manchurian candidate.

Still, the thoroughly debunked birther conspiracy theory persists.

It must be great to be a rich ignorant blowhard. Yes it is, The Donald tells us.

“Part of the beauty of me is that I’m very rich. So if I need $600 million, I can put up $600 million myself. That’s a huge advantage over the other candidates,” bragged Trump.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

(Update: Haha, the Political Animal’s Steve Benen wonders if Donald Trump’s media appearances and presidential ambitions may all be a Kabuki theater-like hoax. “No one is quite this stupid unless they’re trying to be stupid,” quipped Benen. “In other words, “Is Donald Trump putting us on?” Yeah, I’m pretty sure he is, Benen added.

    Q. How can you tell when no republican wannabe presidential candidate has a decent platform on which to run in 2012?

    A. When he/she is willing to transform him/herself into a birther to get the attention of potential rw voters.

    Hey Majii:

And how can you tell when Republicans want to pander to the fringe Right? They go birther.
