The Donald Has it Wrong: ‘World Laughs’ at Trump Not US (Video)

April 7, 2011

(ChattahBox Political News)—Realty TV star Donald Trump is making a complete fool out of himself with his racist birther nonsense and it’s apparently paying big dividends. A new Wall Street Journal/NBC Poll has Trump in a tie for second place with Mike Huckabee in a Republican presidential primary. And among the tea party crowd, Trump comes in first place. The surprising poll results, was the excuse for NBC to provide a forum for Trump to peddle more of his fringe birther conspiracies that have been thoroughly debunked. After falsely declaring that President Obama “may not have been born in this country,” Trump said “the whole world is laughing at us,” because of Obama’s poor leadership and his lack of a real birth certificate. He has it partly right. The world is laughing at Trump’s clownish buffoonery.

Trump told Today’s co-host Meredith Vieira that he would restore America to greatness, because he’s so smart and savvy with deal-making. “He never did a deal,” said Trump about President Obama, adding “The world laughs at us. They won’t be laughing if I’m president.”

Yes they will Donald. People are already mocking you.

To add another twist to his vile birther conspiracies, Trump told Vieira that he sent a team to Hawaii to investigate Obama’s origins, and they are supposedly “finding” lots of something or other.

“I have people that have been studying it and they cannot believe what they’re finding,” he said.

Meredith Vieira responded, “You have people now out there searching – I mean, in Hawaii?”

“Absolutely,” Trump said “And they cannot believe what they’re finding.”

Salon’s Justin Elliott points out that it’s very convenient that NBC is helping Trump to mainstream his wild birther conspiracies and discredited Obama smears. Trump’s reality TV show “Celebrity Apprentice” airs on NBC. More publicity=increased ratings=more money. It’s a win, win.

And it’s also disgraceful.
