He made a series of online posts through his cell phone, with the first at 5:21 a.m. on Sunday morning stating “I will kill people in Akihabara. I will crash my car, and if it is destroyed, I’ll use a knife. Goodbye, everyone.”

In total, he sent out 30 short messages before he carried out his killings, stating he had headaches, social problems, and was lonely.

He stated at 6:31 a.m., “It’s time. I’m leaving.” He then drove to the shopping plaza and carried out the killings.

During the lunch hour Sunday, he rammed his truck into shoppers; he stabbed and killed 7, with 10 others being treated at a hospital.
