A court in Iran has handed a death sentence to an Iranian businessman who reportedly is guilty of spying for Israel..Washington (ChattahBox) – A court in Iran has handed a death sentence to an Iranian businessman who reportedly is guilty of spying for Israel.

The court in Tehran, Iran handed down the death sentence to the man, Ali Ashtari.

He worked for a company as the manager, selling security equipment as well as communications equipment to the government of Iran.

He has been accused of acting as a spy for Israel, working for their Mossad intelligence service.

The spy has since confessed and asked for clemency. He has apologized to the court during the trial.

The government of Israel has stated that they have no knowledge of the man, or anything relating to him.

This comes as tensions increase between Israel and Iran.
