August 11, 2009

Kuwait (ChattahBox) – Officials in Kuwait have arrested six people in connection to a terrorist group, who they say were planning on attacking a US military base.

“The state security has uncovered a terrorist network following al-Qaeda, and includes six (Kuwaiti) citizens who have planned to carry out a plan to bomb Arifjan Camp, the state security building and other important facilities,” the BBC quoted a ministry official.

The six have confessed to the plots, and are being held. Their names have not been released.

The Arifjan Camp is a central point for US soldiers in the region, holding 15,000 troops at any given time.
