Missing Cargo Ship Reportedly Sighted Off Of Cape Verde

August 14, 2009

Russia (ChattahBox) – Russian authorities have reportedly receiving information from the Cape Verde coastguard, which claims to have located the missing Maltese vessel that disappeared last week under mysterious circumstances.

While the reports have not been confirmed, it has been said that the ship has ‘very likely been found’, about 400 nautical miles off the coast of Cape Verde.

A new report has also said that the vessel was attacked twice, both times with the boarders leaving within twelve hours of separate rafts.

“From information currently available it would seem that these acts, such as they have been reported, have nothing in common with ‘traditional’ acts of piracy or armed robbery at sea,” EU Spokesman, Martin Selmayr, was quoted by the BBC.

Details are still scarce, and the mystery remains about what happened, whether the ship has really been found, and if the fifteen crew members are alright.

Piracy has exploded off the coast of some countries. All the necessary measures must be put in place to prevent an event like this to happen. The crew must at least be assured of safety.

The mafia probably got rid of it quietly.
