Loose Lips Don’t Sink Ships, But The Mafia Might

September 16, 2009

Italy (ChattahBox) – An informant in the Calabrian mafia has admitted that he has personally sunk ships carrying toxic waste as a part of the Italian mafia’s waste disposal racket.

There have been rumors for years that the mob may have moved onto toxic waste as part of their widen waste management scam. But this is the first time real evidence has been found to support it.

The informant said that he has personally blown up three ships at sea as a way of cheaply disposing of them, after the mafia forced their way into the usually highly secured disposal business.

Not only does this show an serious increase in mafia profits (as waste management is a lucrative business for anyone), but it shows that they have moved on to more serious environmental crimes as they contaminate the ocean off the coast of Italy.

So far the wreckage from one ship has been found, with several containers that host the Toxic Waste signal. But they have yet to determine if they are radioactive.

Officials believe the three alluded to by the informant are of 30 in the region that have been destroyed.
