Deadly Suicide Bombing Committed By 13-Year-Old Boy In Pakistan

October 12, 2009

Swat Valley (ChattahBox) – Forty-one people have been left dead, and many others injured, after a 13-year-old suicide bomber attacked a military convoy as it passed through a security checkpoint.

While six of the reported dead have been named as members of the local armed forces, the rest of the civilians were civilians.

It is one of a series of attacks in recent months that have rocked the region, as the Taliban steps up it’s aggressive force to regain a foothold in the Swat Valley.

While children have commonly been used as a tragic means of carrying out bombing in Afghanistan, it is a relatively new method of attack in Pakistan. The use of a 13-year-old boy in this most recent bombing has left many stunned.

Casualties may increase over the coming hours as calm is restored in the area.
