On 950th Try, Woman Passes Driver’s License Exam

November 7, 2009

(ChattahBox)—A 68-year-old South Korean woman has been trying to pass the written exam to obtain her driver’s license, since April 2005. And after spending thousands of dollars in application fees and never giving up, the determined woman passed the exam on her 950th try, barely scoring a passing grade.

Cha Sa-soon runs a vegetable-selling business and needs a driver’s license to transport her fresh produce to the market. Sa-soon made almost daily appearances at the driver’s license office to repeatedly retake the exam, and she became a familiar sight to office staff.

Finally on Wednesday, Sa-soon scored 60 points out of 100, which is the minimum passing score.

Next on Sa-soon’s agenda is the driving test. She is hoping she can pass on at least, her 300th try, well maybe her 450th, but definitely not after nearly 1,000 attempts. Her vegetables will not stay fresh for long.
