Steve Irwin Compound On Fire, Widow Blamed?

November 17, 2009

Australia (ChattahBox) – A neighbor next to the eco habitat dedicated to Steve Irwin has alleged that it is Terri Irwin to blame for a large wildfire.

The fire has been raging over the 330,000 of habitat, and it has been described as an ‘animal graveyard’ as many of the endangered creatures housed there succumb to the flames.

A neighbor living near the compound has said that Terri Irwin has left the place largely unattended, and that it is the reason behind the fire.

“The damage can be greatly reduced with a strict fire regime, but her land has been left largely untouched … It’s a major environmental disaster,” Cameron Quartermaine was quoted by The Telegraph.

But a spokesperson for the Irwins has denied these claims, saying it was probably pig hunters to blame. They are known for starting fires to level land, in order to speed the hunt.
