Earthquake Hits Haiti At A Damaging 7.0

January 12, 2010

Haiti (ChattahBox) – A 7.0 magnitude earthquake has struck about 10 miles southwest of Port-au-Prince, leaving many building damaged, and an unclear view as to how many may be hurt.

No one knows if there are any deaths, though it is believed that many may have been injured.

Various buildings have allegedly crumbled, including one hospital, a cathedral, dozens of houses, and a hotel.

Structural damages have been reported as “catastrophic”.

“There is a kind of wail as people are very frightened by it,” Frank Williams of World Vision International explained the reaction to the aftershocks.

“But most people are out in the streets and just kind of looking up.”

Few sources have been able to be contacted by media agencies.

I hate to sound dismal, but there are ought to be massive casualties. The strength of the quake.. the depth.. the population of the area.. and many of the flimsy homes… I smell a calamity.
My hopes and prayers go out to all affected.

What a measurable life now there! I would like to apply to the people who have a ability to help them please help. Who have no ability to help at least pray for them.
