Double Suicide Bombing In Pakistan Targets Refugees

April 17, 2010

Pakistan (ChattahBox) – Two suicide bombings have occurred in a refugee camp near the city of Kohat, where displaced Pakistanis were standing in line, waiting for food rations to be handed out.

Each explosion occurred within minutes of one another, and left thirty people dead and more than fifty injured.

The refugees were displaced from the tribal belt border of Pakistan, an area that has been described by U.S. President Barack Obama as the most dangerous place on Earth.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced from these areas, where they have fled from the intense fighting going on between the Pakistan military and insurgents, include 50,000 who recently left occupied areas that were being put under severe military operations.

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has spoken out against the attacks and promised greater civilian security.
