Three Brits Killed In Suspected Honor Killing During Pakistan Vacation

May 21, 2010

Pakistan (ChattahBox) – Three members of a British family on vacation in Pakistan have been killed in what appears to have been an honor killing, authorities say.

The Yousaf family had been in the country celebrating the arranged marriage of one the couple’s sons.

But Mohammad, Pervaze, and their adult daughter Tania never expected that they would be in danger. They were shot while visiting a graveyard.

Authorities believe that it was related to a relationship with another son of the couple’s, and that it was an honor killing.

“Mr Yousaf’s son was married to a girl from Pakistan and there have been some problems with the marriage and that’s the dispute that’s happened,” Mohammed Iqbal, a friend of the family, explained.

Another woman was also killed earlier in the day, though it isn’t known for sure if the attack was related.

Two shooters have been arrested, and another is being sought.
