February 23, 2011

(ChattahBox World News) – Espionage to politics seems like a natural transition, given they both require plenty of subterfuge?  Deported from the United States last year, failed former Russian spy Anna Chapman,  is now set to run for office. Chapman pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges and was among nine other agents were deported to Russia last summer as part of a prisoner swap.  Chapman a celebrity now in Russia, is to run for the Russian parliament in December as a member of Vladimir Putin’s ruling party.  Chapman, who turns 29 today, has been tabbed as the candidate to represent her home region of Volgograd  in southern Russia, and is virtually guaranteed to win in the December vote as a member of Putin’s ruling party, The Daily Telegraph says.
